Lelouch Lamperouge

The main protagonist of a story called Code Geass, also being the centre of this blog. Lelouch is a student of Ashford Academy, and despises the current ruling of Britannia. He also holds a geass that grants him the power of obedience. He is a very intelligent student but lacks the motivation in school, reason being he has little interest in grades, which is why he uses his Student Council position to ditch classes and attend to other matters. Someday, he hopes for world peace but he knows very well that it's only a dream and that the least he would like to do is end the war and that everyone is a nicer to each other, not using power to abuse those that are lower than them(whether social, political, physical, etc).

Kururugi Suzaku

Son of the deceased Prime Minister of Japan, Kururugi Genbu. First encountered Lelouch and Nunally at the Kururugi residence when they were used as a diplomatic peace trade. At first, Suzaku hated Lelouch for thinking he was an arrogant young prince who didn't care for anyone and even attacking Lelouch when he had no weapon to defend himself with. Soon after, he got to know him as the three of them stayed together and seeing that he wasn't like that, then becoming Lelouch's best friend. He also has the same dream as Lelouch, yet chooses a different way to achieve it. He is a lot more dominant in the physical side of things compared to Lelouch, which is why they make a very good pair when working together.

An immortal girl whose real name can't be spoken and once had a geass, is now in possession of 1 of 2 Codes, a power which is able to give someone a geass. Allied with Lelouch, she hopes for the day that someone grants her wish. Before she received the code, her geass was to make people like her. To the point she grew tired of the attention and couldn't tell whether people genuinely liked her or whether the effects of her geass.

Charles zi Britannia
The 98th Emperor of Britannia, also being Lelouch's father. He soon exiled Lelouch and Nunally to Japan after the death of their mother(Marianne vi Britannia), because Lelouch showed disobedience against him for speaking up about their mother's death and the Emperor showed a lack of concern. Although he has his reasons, what Lelouch saw his father do, he couldn't stand it, therefore hating him for keeping information about his mother from him.

Kouzuki Kallen

Kallen is a half Britannian-half japanese girl, who attends the same school as Lelouch. She is an outstanding student with great grades, yet very quiet and keeps to herself. Although she seems frail while attending school, she was actually part of a resistance which fought for the 11s(Japanese people, whose country is deemed "Area 11" after Britannia took control).

Jeremiah Gottwald

Jeremiah is a highly skilled Knightmare pilot and was a member of the Purist Faction(a faction with its views of despising the system of honorary citizenship, and also disapproving the thought of allowing foreigners into society and the military, wanting only Britannian blood). He had been a guard at the Palace when the "beloved" Empress Marianne was killed and considered it as his biggest failure. After finding out the identity of Zero and realizing that he was the son of the late Empress, he then pledged his allegiance to him because of his love for the royal family and believe that Lelouch's views are those worthy of following.

Nunally Lamperouge
Lelouch's real sister(not half blooded like the rest), was "paralyzed from the legs down and blinded from the trauma of witnessing the death of her mother." Although she can't see, it's believed that the rest of her senses have been improved, including knowing how people really feel or noticing whether they're lying or not.

Schneizel el Britannia

The Second Prince of the Britannian Imperial Family and the Prime Minister of the Holy Britannian Empire. Half brother to Lelouch, he at first seems like a gentle person that would put others first but he later shows his true colours, willing to kill anyone that stands in his way. He is a careful and intelligent person and is believed to be the only person that Lelouch has never bested in a game of chess. He later serves Zero as Lelouch had bested him in a battle of wits and succumbed to his geass.

Kirihara Taizo
Taizo is the founder of Kirihara Industries and aids the Black Knights with Knightmares, Weapons and intel. He is a wealthy man that gained it from mining sakuradite, an influential resource in this time. He was at first suspicious of Zero/Lelouch's acts after their encounter but once Zero revealed his identity to Kirihara, he understood completely and told the Black Knights that "This person is definitely an enemy of Britannia." "Follow Zero."

Organizations

 

The Order of the Black Knights

Lead by Zero, they are a group of vigilante rebels that fight against the Britannian Empire. They announced to the world that they are the "allies of justice." They are willing to fight the strong to aid the weak. "Fear us or seek us." "We, the Order of the Black Knights, are allies of all those who hold no weapons! Be it Elevens or Britannians" - Lelouch

Holy Britannian Empire

A nation that was created from the old British Empire, and is now the world's most dominant military power, which has rule over more than a third of the world. Being such a force has set fear into a lot of people's eyes but also obedience. For most of the Code Geass Story, the Emperor had been Charles zi Britannia, Lelouch's father, then was taken over by the second Prince, Schhneizel. Not too long after Schneizel took control, He wanted to control the entire world and therefore discarded his rule over Britannia and reached for a higher goal. Schneizel allied himself with the United Federation of Nations and said he would help against the tyranny of Lelouch. And so, war between Schniezel and Lelouch broke out, whereas Britannia backed up Lelouch(as he used his geass) and the Order of the Black Knights(who had joined up with the United Federation of Nations) had followed Schneizel. Lelouch defeated Schneizel, making him forever serve Zero and so his reign of terror had started. Lelouch had ruled for only a few months, as planned, and then had himself killed by Zero(who is now Suzaku) and had taken all the hate towards Britannia and himself with him. Leaving Nunally to rule Britannia, Zero Requiem had been achieved.

Japanese Liberation Front

Once worked on their own and were the largest Japanese resistance organization, merging with the Order of the Black Knights in the latter. After Cornelia had become the new governor of Area 11, she was obsessed with any little threat and had the mindset to crush anything that was out of order. The Japanese Liberation Front had fallen to Cornelia's forces and its headquarters was destroyed, along wth the leaders. Toudou, who had been nicknamed "Toudou of Miracles" for being the only person to have ever won a battle against the Britannian Empire without the use of any Knightmare Frames, had been a member and was captured, only to be rescued later on by The Order of the Black Knights.
